Visual Studio

When Visual Studio accesses symbols from any symbol server, including SymbolSource, it sends web requests containing the name of the module that symbols are requested for and its hash. If automatic symbol download is enabled then, depending on your symbol server order, this may cause Visual Studio to issue requests for your private libraries. This information will be recorded in our logs, but it will only be used for statistical purposes. Also note that no actual code is ever automatically shared with SymbolSource. The same information will be sent during a source file request, with the addition of the source file path name. When using authenticated Visual Studio URLs, symbol files server by SymbolSource will also case inclusion of the local computer and user name. This informaction will be hashed upon arrival and only used to enforce and enhance the security of your account. Should your private Visual Studio URL be ever accessed by a different person, we will be able to discover this fact, invalidate the URL and notify you of the breach.
